porsche 911 st flares
Pressed Steel 1972 2.5 ltr Group 4 911 ST style Wheelarch or Fender Flares available for sale and/or fitting:
Porsche's first 911 customer ‘Homologation Special' was the 1968 911T Rallye, essentially a Lightweight 911S.
For 1970, Porsche's next step was to list a lightweight version of the then new 2.2 litre 911S, called the 911S Sport, to homologate the base model for FIA International competition.
This 911S Sport, which for historical reasons became referred to in the Factory as the 911 ST, was offered with a very extensive range of options, including extended steel wheelarch flares, and a full race engine that was stretched to 2.5 litre and 275 bhp for 1972.
The steel wheelarch flares of the 911ST are slightly smaller than those of the subsequent 1973 Carrera 2.8 RSR and the later production 911 Turbos, which essentially adopted the RSR flares. These ST flares have hence become one of the most practical and attractive upgrades for 911's from this period
