996 ‘Silsleeve'
The current generation of Boxster and 996/997 models have been hugely successful for Porsche. When first introduced, the 996 in particular was a far more radical redesign of the 911 concept than arguably all the previous developments put together.
With such a totally new design, occasional development problems on the early models emerged in the field, notably with the cylinder blocks in the early 3.4 litre 996. Please see our Silsleeve section for more information.
Our totally rebuilt ‘Silsleeve' engines, incorporating many upgrades Porsche have introduced in the last decade, we believe offer an excellent future for these early 996 models (and Boxsters where relevant), these models now representing excellent value for money. On occasion, we hope to be able to offer good 996's fitted with our Silsleeve engines.
